Something still missing in Hungary
4 August, 2007Recently I saw an article in Heti Válasz (a Hungarian weekly newspaper). It was an interview with Zsolt HERNÁDI, the managing director of MOL (the “number one” undertaking in Hungary see: Figyelő Top 200). What catched my eyes was the following from the interview (translated by me): “On the other hand the OMV [the nr. 1 Austrian oil company] can not be regarded as a market player. On the one hand beacuse it is not operating according to market rules, on the other hand beacuse two of its owners have a determinant influance with a voting agreement between themselves on the top of it.”
Interesting… I’m pretty sure the battle between the two companies will go on on the market.
Lunchtime lectures
4 August, 2007The Hungarian Competition Law Research Centre is going to launch a lunchtime lecture series this autumn. If the plans and current discussions will come true, we will have some very interesting and remarkable lectures in Budapest.
